Most contractor lead generation is a bad deal for the contractor. You pay per lead, the same lead gets sold to four other companies, half the numbers are junk, and the price goes up the better you get at closing. We built our lead sites because we got tired of that model ourselves. This is the other way to do it: a site that belongs to one contractor, a phone number that rings one phone, and a rent that does not change when you get busy.
How Contractor Lead Generation Works Here
1. We build a lead site for your trade and town
A real site, 15 to 20 pages, written for the searches homeowners in your town actually type: "deck builder Kannapolis," "septic pumping Salisbury," "generator installation Greenville NC." Service pages, town pages, cost pages, and a quote form. It runs on our hosting, not yours.
2. We put a local tracking number on it
A number in your area code that forwards to your cell or office. Every call is logged and recorded, a short whisper tells you it is a lead from the site before you pick up, and a press-1 filter keeps the robocalls out. You see every call the site produces.
3. We get it indexed and ranked
Search Console, sitemaps, schema, speed, citations, and the content work that moves a local site up the map and the organic results. Every site we build passes our 20-point technical standard before it goes live, and we keep working it after.
4. The calls go to you, and only you
One contractor per trade per town. We do not sell the same call twice and we do not run a second site for your competitor down the street. The site is yours for as long as you rent it.
5. You start paying when the phone rings
New sites take time to rank. We do not bill you for a site that has not produced a call. Once the calls start, the rent starts, and it is the same flat amount whether the site sends you five calls or fifty.
6. Month to month after the first term
If the site stops earning its keep, you stop paying for it. If you want a second town, we build a second site. Most contractors who get one working ask for the next town over.
Why Exclusive Beats Pay-Per-Lead
If you have bought leads from HomeAdvisor, Angi, Thumbtack, or a "we send you jobs" caller, you already know the pattern. Here is the difference in plain terms:
Shared vs. yours
Marketplace leads go to three to five contractors the second they come in. You are racing to the phone. A lead site sends the call to one number: yours.
Per lead vs. flat rent
Per-lead pricing means every argument about what counts as a lead is money. Flat rent means the better the site does, the cheaper each call gets, and nobody is counting.
Their customer vs. your customer
A marketplace lead found the marketplace, not you. A homeowner who calls from a site about your trade in your town found you. They are easier to close and they call back.
Pay first vs. pay when it works
Marketplaces bill the minute you sign up. We bill when the site has proven it can make your phone ring.
Trades and Towns That Work Best
Lead sites work where homeowners search for the trade with a problem in hand and a wallet out. The best fits are high-ticket, urgent, or both:
Septic and drain field
Pumping, repair, drain field replacement. Urgent and expensive.
Generators and electrical
Standby generator installation, panel upgrades, EV chargers.
Crawl space and foundation
Encapsulation, waterproofing, moisture and mold.
Decks, fences, and outdoor builds
Deck builders, fence companies, pergolas, screened porches.
Roofing, HVAC, plumbing
Replacement and repair searches with strong local intent.
Pressure washing and exterior
Lower ticket, higher volume. Works best paired with another trade.
Towns of roughly 15,000 to 150,000 people are the sweet spot: enough search volume to produce calls, not so much competition that ranking takes years. Big-city downtowns are harder and we will tell you so. Small towns usually need two or three neighboring sites to produce enough calls, and we will tell you that too.
How It Works
Flat monthly rent for an exclusive lead site and tracking number, quoted by trade and market. No per-lead fees. No setup fee. Billing starts after the site has produced calls, not before.
Free period
From launch until the site produces calls. The length is set per agreement, either a number of calls delivered or a number of days after the first call. It never ends before the first call arrives. You see every call during the free period.
Monthly rent
One flat amount, set by trade and town, due on the same day each month. It does not go up when the site gets busier. Quoted after we check your town and your competition.
Term
An initial term once billing starts, then month to month. Add a second town any time. If the site stops producing, you stop paying.
The whole arrangement is in a short written agreement so there are no surprises about what counts as a call, when billing starts, and how either side ends it. Book a 30-minute call and we will tell you whether your town is open and what it would rent for.
Contractor Lead Generation FAQ
How much does contractor lead generation cost?
A flat monthly rent for an exclusive lead site and tracking number in your town, quoted by trade and market. There are no per-lead fees and no setup fee, and billing starts after the site has produced calls, not before.
Are the leads exclusive?
Yes. One contractor per trade per town. The site and the phone number are yours alone for as long as you rent them. We do not build a second site for your competitor.
How long until the phone rings?
A new lead site typically takes two to four months to start producing calls and six months or more to reach steady volume, depending on the trade and the competition in your town. That is why we do not bill until the calls start.
Do I own the site?
No, you rent it, which is why there is no build fee and no risk if it does not work. If you would rather own a site outright, that is our contractor website design service, and the two work well together.
Do you work outside North Carolina?
Yes. The sites are built and ranked remotely and the tracking number is a local number in your area code. We are in Mooresville, North Carolina, and we work with contractors anywhere in the United States.
How is this different from buying leads from HomeAdvisor or Angi?
Those leads are sold to several contractors at once and you pay per lead whether or not you win the job. Our leads come from a site that only sends calls to you, for one flat monthly rent that does not change when you get busy.
What if my town is already taken?
Then it is taken. We only run one contractor per trade per town. We can check the next town over, or put you on a list in case the current renter gives it up.
What happens to the calls if I stop renting?
The number is reassigned and the site goes to the next contractor. Nothing about your own business website, phone number, or Google listing is affected, because none of it was ever ours.
